Kailyne R. Waters

Kailyne R. Waters (Writer, Director, Producer) has worked as a writer, advocate, and coordinator for programs and organizations whose mission statements embody the work of social justice. In March of 2006, she left the field of social service to pursue full time, freelance work in media arts. She has been fortunate to combine her love for art and stories with her passion for non-profit service as the Greater Cleveland Project Coordinator for Scenarios USA.  As Coordinator she oversaw the development and implementation of a youth-based regional writing contest and the film MANchild which premiered on Showtime. She currently divides her time between marketing for the Cleveland International Film Festival, managing a media literacy program for urban teens in collaboration with the PBS affiliate ideastream, and as Creative Executive with the Chicago-based Amarok Productions, whose most recent production THE PAINTER, premiered at the Montreal World Film Festival, and has screened in Ireland, New York, Chicago, and LA to date.
